ALL THESE PATTERNS ARE GENUINE FIRST WORLD 1914-18 PATTERNS, AND ARE IN MY OWN COLLECTION The patterns on these pages are genuine designs and patterns produced during the years of the First World War 1914-1918 and were approved by various councils and committees concerned with the comfort of our fighting boys and girls overseas and in the many hospitals around the UK and at Red Cross stations all over the world in the midst of battle.

Field and Hospital Comforts: 1914-18 Great vintage knitting and crochet book full of patterns for comorts for the servicemen at the front and in the trenches. Crochet was more popular at this time, but there are over 20 patterns for various items that would be useful to the boys fighting away from home and in hospitals overseas as well as at home. Mothers, sister, wives and sweethearts along with young girls clicked away with their needles and flicked across with their crochet hooks at every spare moment they had. Below you will find a selection of these patterns available as pdfs or photocopies. If you go to the main service pages you will find another booklet and some more interesting items from these long ago years.
