vintage crochet pattern from 1940s for mats Homecraft 443cr: Great vintage crochet pattern for luncheon or chevel set from 1940s. There are instructions for three sizes of mat in Fir Tree design - size of cotton or rayon will determine the size of mats.

This pattern is from 1940s. there are instructions for the medallion which resembles a rose or flower and suggests what can be made with them and how many will be needed with some diagrams to create tray cloth, petticoat, chemise or nightdress top, runners, chair back, tea cloths etc.

Homecraft 430cr: Great vintage crochet pattern from 1940s for tea cosy and tray cloth in Filet crochet. There are charts to help with the design, tray cloth is 19 inches in diameter. Tea cosy measures 13 wide by 11 high - a pad will be needed for insulation. Size of cotton or rayon will determine size.

There are instructions for filet flower motif, flower, round, Wheel and Pyramid flower mat, using no5 cotton - for smaller sizes use finer cotton. Each motif is 5.25 inches square or 5 inches across in the case of circular ones.

There are instructions given for 3 designs.  Rosalinda square about 2 inches square worked in no20 cotton. Juliette tulip motif is about 2.5 inches square worked in no60 cotton and larger round motif that will be about 6 inches across. Irish Rose is 2.5 inches across worked in no60 cotton. For larger motifs for bedspread, table cloth etc use a thicker cotton.
