Bestway 1488: Great vintage baby pattern from 1940s for romper. This sweet little design is to fit 1-2 years or 23 inch chest. Simple two colour fair isle band at waist. There is fullness to accommodate napkin and fastens at back of neck and between legs. 6 small button needed. Classic but still fashionable in a retro way. Always work a tension square. Vintage 3ply was used for original, try modern fine 4ply with a smaller size needle.

Bestway B2321: Great vintage baby knitting pattern from 1940s. There are three different designs in this pattern all to fit baby and toddler. The dress and jacket at top will fit 2-3 years and is worked in a hemstitch stitch to fit 20-22 inch chest, the middle dress and jacket is knitted in berry stitch will fit 6-12 months with 20 inch chest and the little boys suit including socks will fit 1-2 years or 22 inch chest. The knickers are in the fashion of a sunsuit and knitted in 3ply yarn. Watch for the different needles needed for wool or nylon in this pattern. From the late 1940s there was new nylonese yarn produced.
