Pearsalls 417: Great vintage 1930s knitting pattern for baby socks and bootees. There are instructions to knit two pairs of socks to fit 1-2 years and 2-3 years and baby bootees and little slippers. Rayon is suggested which was similar to art silk and very pretty if a bit slippery to knit with. Silk will work that will knit to a 3ply or cotton, fine no 14 needles required (2mm) but worth the effort, they are so cute and delicate.

Baby hood to fit round face 10 inches, a pixie hood for a 6 year old with scarf attached and hood with turn back brim for older girls of about 12 years. These are so easy to knit and so cosy to wear. With a basic pattern like this you can work your own designs on them in various colours. They are knitted in vintage 4ply so this will work better maybe with modern double knitting, work a tension squar.
